The Lubber Fiend is a DIY grassroots music venue. We opened our doors in 2022 and have been hosting the best experimental and outsider music from around the world ever since. The venue is a not for profit and we exist to support grassroots/DIY music in Newcastle Upon Tyne and to programme affordable gigs with national and international artists. New Ruins is an extension of the adventurous and unique programme we host at the venue, but in a 4 day city festival format!
As a not for profit organisation we rely on membership subscriptions and donations. Members get exclusive benefits including ticket and drink discounts, members merch, free-to-members events, meals at Lubber Kitchen and much more! Become a member, support the venue and claim your New Ruins ticket discount HERE.
Since June 2025 Lubber Kitchen, located just downstairs from the venue, has been serving delicious seasonal food as a cafe and restaurant. As part of the festival Lubber Kitchen will operate as a second space to sit, relax, and of course, eat. There will be food available across the weekend of the festival in Lubber Kitchen as well as a programme of DJs from Slack’s Radio and further afield.
The Lubber Fiend and Lubber Kitchen are inclusive spaces and no forms of discrimination or prejudice will be tolerated. Please see here … to read more.
